A stronger future for independent agents starts with each of us. By referring colleagues to IIABCal, you help expand our community and strengthen the collective influence of independent insurance agencies across California. This promotion encourages current members to invite non-member agencies to join (at a discount!) and benefit from trusted advocacy, valuable resources, industry insights, and a statewide network dedicated to supporting their success.

How It Works

Who can refer?

All current IIABCal members in good standing.

Who can be referred?

Any agency licensed and operating in California who has not been a member for at least one calendar year.

What qualifies as a referral?

A referral qualifies for an incentive when a non-member agency pays annual dues.

What does a referring member get for making a referral?

Tiered rewards based on number of successful referrals:

  • 1st Referral: $100 Amazon gift card to referring individual plus agency/company and individual recognition on IIABCal website; Personal acknowledgement from CEO.
  • 2nd Referral by same individual: $250 Amazon gift card and recognition on IIABCal website; Personal acknowledgement from CEO.
  • 3rd Referral by same individual and beyond: $350 Amazon gift card per referral and recognition on the IIABCal website and social media and at Installation Celebration and Blue Ribbon Conference. Personal acknowledgement from CEO.
How much discount does a new member get if recruited as part of this program?

Referred agencies receive:

  • 50% off first 2 years’ dues for agencies less than $500k in revenue, 25% off third years’ dues.
  • 10% off first-year dues for agencies over $500k in revenue
  • Onboarding session to help maximize benefits
  • Board liaison – Current Board member to serve as a point of contact

How will IIABCal track referrals?

The new member must indicate the referring member’s name on the application.
