California Qualifying For Trusted Choice Big “I” National Championship July 11th

Glendale, CA, July 7, 2016 — Final plans are in place for the California State qualifying tournament for the Trusted Choice Big “I” National Championship.

“The California Big “I” State qualifying tournament will be held at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale starting July 11th and features separate boys’ and girls’ divisions,” IIABA Director Rick Dinger said. “The state tournament is being sponsored by the IBA Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena.”  

The top five finishers in the boys’ and top two2 finishers in the girls’ divisions at the state finals will advance to compete in the Big “I” National Championship. This year’s Big “I” tournament will be hosted by the IBA of Sacramento and be held at the Del Paso Country Club, Sacramento, CA, Aug. 1 – 4, 2016.

The national tournament is sponsored by the IIABA and Trusted Choice. The Trusted Choice Big “I” National Championship began in 1969 and has grown to become as one of the most highly anticipated junior golf championships in the country.

Through the years, several of today’s current PGA stars played in the Big “I” as youngsters, including Tiger Woods, Phil Michelson, Justin Leonard, Webb Simpson, Jonathan Byrd, Kevin Na, and Billy Andrade, who is a two-time Big I winner, and many others. Additionally, Tiger Woods is a two-time Big “I” champion.
